    hi,

thinking of getting a juwel tank RIO 400. any comments on the filter system and lighting. RIO 400 comes with 2 x 36W FL. i think that's not enough. maybe need to add another 2 x36W FL. is 4 x36 FL enough for the tank?

i think the most problematic one is the temperature. i don't intend to use a chiller. but i cannot find any place to hold a fan. any advise?

    thanks,

    steve

I think there is an upgrade for Juwel tank but it uses T5 bulbs. The brand of this T5 bulb is ATI. Uses e-ballast too.

    Hi Bro,

I am using the RIO 240, no problem at all, remove the flap, add in a 2x36W ligthing set, need not get from juwel, get 1 from NA with stand, add the fan under the light. It will be just nice. My tank temp is 25-26degrees now....

Why get RIO 400, it is too big......

Anyway, if you are keen can consider selling mine to you.
    Cheers

I'm using the RIO 400 from Juwel too.

As for the filter, I've taken it out from day one. Now using 2 X Eheim Professional II 2028. Was told that Juwel's filter is not bad too, but I prefer external cannister filteration.

As for light, Juwel has a multilux upgrade kit that adds another 2 X 36W FL. It comes as a set with covers. I also find the light fairly sufficient, but then again, I grow moss, ferns, echindoras and cryptocoryne.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
