    co2 connected to pump head

    Hi.
I have connected co2 to my pump head (for over head Filter) air inlet through a one way valve to stop the back flow.
The one way valve was working good for 3 months till last week when water rushes through the valve and leak (some where) damaging the electric plugs causing short circuit.
Is there a setup to thr pump head where this back flow problem can be eradicated? My valve is dymax plastic. Any advice is appreciated.

    what short circuit? solenoid assembly?
Most of us use 2 check valve, the 2nd one as fail-safe.

i keep a couple of spare check valves of different types, currently using plastic ones also.

Maybe you could try using metal brass check valves instead.

And as felix said, most of us tend to use at least 2 check valves as sometimes checkvalves do not work as well over time. I personally use 3 check valves.
I have a few brand new brass metal check valves if you need.

besides that, using co2 on the pump head connected to your overhead filter, i supposed that the co2 is made to go through the filter material along with the water through the overhead filter before it goes back into the water?
Using a overhead filter promotes gaseous exchange between the surrounding air and the water, and thus much of your co2 would probably not diffuse into the water, or that it will be diffused into the ambient air in the overhead filter.

Why would you be diffusing co2 into the water in the first place? If you are pumping in co2, you should try to prevent gaseous exchange between water and the surronding air by reducing water movement between the air-water surface, thats why many users doing planted tanks with co2 injection use canister filters.
