Guys, I am using the GEX slim filter S now for a 4 days now, and the sound of the motor is quite loud, is it supposed to be loud as it did seems to be loud about 2 days ago when I first started using it on a new tank.

    Please advise.

Check whether you installed the pipes properly. Do you use a pre filter sponge at the inlet? If you do try rinsing or removing it totally. Mine makes a lot of noise when the inlet is clogged up.

They do produce considerable sound when running, but how loud is loud? It could be subjective.
If you think that the sound should not be that loud and there seems to be something wrong, do bring back to your LFS for a 1-1 exchange during the specified period.

I have always had issues with vibration sounds from Gex hang on filters.

Try sticking a plastic spoon in the gap near the top of the inlet to stabilise and muffle the vibrations.

    Re: Gex Slim Filter S

The vibrating sound is probably not the motor sound but rather the vibration buzz sound

I "kiap" a rubber band between the cover and filter and it runs near silent.
Will try to take a pic later

Hi, I am using gex slim filter size L. It is really silent compared to my other ocean free HOF. No issues with any vibration sound either. Maybe you should check with the lfs. Something might be faulty. But if it is the vibration buzz sound then it should be alright haha.

Last thing to check, is the slim filter S too small for 30cm nano tank?
