provide some pics of your pump ?
I don't know much about tank upkeep, I just got my first fish settled, but I know that my pump was pushing out more water when I fist set it up than what it is now ... how can I clean the lil' bugger? I can't find a way to open up the actual pump, and I've checked the filter and it's still good.. I tried just searching around the internet, that's how I found this site, but when I read these posts... it all look's like greek to me in terms of understanding what all these terms mean.. What can I do?![]()
its a 120vac 60Hz 12AMP and alot of numbers.. but I actually got this tank from one of my friends who couldnt take it with her, or didnt want to, when she moved into a college dorm... so the only stuff I know is what I can see and thats not very much.. I tried taking some pictures but where its at in my room has horrible lighting and I even tried to lift the tanks light to take the pictures but you cant really tell what they are..
We managed to get it running alright, for now. I dont really know how we did it but i believe that my mom is magic. But beyond just the flow of my pump, is there other stuff i should be doing to help my fish? My filter compartment is giant, my moms tank is a 10 gallon and we are guessing that mine is only a 5, but where my water gets sucked up to get filtered is seperated by this large compartment where the water just sits untill it over fills and hits my wheel of a filter.. am i missing something that i should be putting in that empty space? I'm also wondering if maybe i should put a bubble stone in for more oxygen or what.. I have 8 guppies of varieing types, a molly that is the giant of my tank, 3 ghost shrimp, and 2 black kahli loaches.
And sorry for my confusing explanations and questions.. I am kinda scatter brained![]()
