Which Fertilizer for our planted

Dear Bros here,

Am a noobie here, I have seen many Fertilizer in those lfs selling in terms of liquid or tablet, May I check which of those is a must for a planted tank & which brand is good.

Sorry have lost the knowledge already after my last planted is like 10 or more years ago. Advice is really needed. Am looking to grow HC & mini chirstmas moss.

Any advice is appreciated.

if you are using soil like ADA or contro or any soil meant for planted tank, in the short term you do not need any ferts.

If you are going high tech with intense lighting and CO2 injection and chilling, i would suggest you try some lushgro macros / micros. can be found at Nature Aquarium along Thomson road.

You will need N-P-K (chemical symbol) as basic if that is what you are asking.

Sorry to ride on this thread and I am also thinking of getting dry fertilizers instead of buying seachem comprehensive liquid which is costly.

I happened to see this website and is the below the correct product to buy for my plant tank 3x2x2 mainly 50% hairgrass and other stem plants, crypts. Should I get no. 1 or 2 and how do I go about dosing into my tank. Btw, I have 4 x 39 T5HO lights for 7-8 hours with 2-3 bps

The way I see it, the essential is to tie down the base fertilizer you want to use as the foundation of the tank. This is required if you like to have lush, sustainable growth for any rooted plants that is stuffed into the substrate.

Once you tied this part down, get your plants in, start the tank first before deciding on liquid ferts. This is the later part and to be frank there are tons of brands out there to consider stick with the standard brands like Dennerle, Tropica, Seachem, JBL stuff like that.

I give up trying to guess the amount of KNO3, KH2PO4, and etc. to be dropped into the tank. Therefore, I am adopting combination fertilizers such as LushGRO Aqua & excessive feeding. : ) And I am seriously considering switching (brand) but then .. a lot of things I need to get used to. I am comfortable with routine I guess : )
