API not too bad, get the 6 in 1 set, if i'm not wrong.
Hi all,
I'm thinking of getting a complete set of water test kits for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and ph.
Do you have any cheap n good brand to recommend?

Many use Api master kit. Roughly how much is it in lfs?
Ok noted. API. I don't know how much. Haha

Now that amazon ships to singapore, can buy online.
I last saw the API test kit selling for USD $19. With shipping I think maybe only USD$23
Ya I should be getting that too. But cuz now I need it urgently for my tank, so I just bought from tampines k&k aquarium JBL 6 in 1 for $30 (50 test stripes). But beware that it does not include ammonia testing, so I have to buy another separate sera ammonia test kit @ $24.

Note that test strip kits are not as accurate, so don't panic too much if you see weird measurements.
I've been using the API Freshwater Master Test Kit (liquid type)... its been good and reliable so far. Tests pH (low and high range), ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Local shops sell the whole kit for around $50+. It's always a good idea to get liquid test kits eventually.
I bought a bunch of different liquid test kits - sera & api - these seem to work okay. To be honest i'm not sure how one brand is more accurate than the other so my principle is use what I have and baseline with those results. I don't have one of each brand by the way...just 1 ammonia, 1 nitrate, 1 nitrite etc! There could be thoughts to try and be mega-accurate but that would mean buying different brands and repeatedly testing but that's way over-kill.
