I was told that they hate water change. They will belly up after you change their tank water. Since then I am left with 3 cherry from a population of 20 after a few water change but the yamato wasn't effected.
Anyone which is the micro in water that Shrimp is most sensitive to?
I read some sites, they said its copper in the water, others say iits N03 above 25ppm .
Some of the posting mention shrimps survivng higher then 30ppm of nitrate, others mention Yamato dying while cherries surviving high PO4 and nitrate level.
Anyone shrimp breeder care to share experience?
I got shrimps dying one every other day or week, cant figure out whats wrong. All the parameter i checked with the test kit was in normal range, plants are healthy. If the water was bad, all the shrimp would be dead, but its one or 2 every other day
I only got a few ruby tetra , boraras brigit, pymgy cory, a couple of guppies and rasbora espei all peaceful fishes or suppose to be

I seem to have a bit more success now...they used to keep dying on me...I think the trick is temperature...I have recently added an array of fans and managed to bring down the temperature to about 28...the shrimps seems happier now.
