thanks fatmax...those u bought from ikea worked well? which is better, analog or digital ones?
Yes those from IKEA worked perfectly fine, in fact I prefer the narrower profile compared to those timers in the market. I have never had any experience with a digital timer. Thus am unable to comment about it. From a price viewpoint and it serving it's function, I am for the "budget" product!

Using the Ikea's analog timer for few years liao. Still going strong

I have both an analog and a digital timer, the digital is good for stuff that doesn't occur at the same time everyday, so you can set a different time for a different day of the week. Analog you're pretty much stuck with 24hr repeating operations.
Ah..... That's a good function that a digital timer has! What's the price like for a digital timer? And it can be found say around some lim/Jalan Besar area?

Erm Is the Light Timers two pin or three pin?
My digital timer was passed on to me, I've seen them for sale at places that carry home improvement stuff. Both my digital and analogue timers have a 3 pin plug.
For analog timer, if budget allows, go for "TheBen" timer. RRP around SGD$21.50. Made in Germany. Available in SLT. Basement shops sells them at a higher price. One of the shops on the third floor retails them at a better rate.
For digital timer, I recommend the one by MistKing as it allows multiple sequence. RRP is around SGD$70+-. This is available from GC.
Hope this helps.
I'm using the Ikea timers. No problems so far.
ok thanks for the input guys...i'm likely to give the Ikea timers a try, more of budget for me![]()
the ikea timers, 2 for 9.95, has definitely come a long way with me. i'm using them for almost every other item and they're the cheapest you can find in singapore!
its cheap, it serves its purpose, thats whats most important for me. accuracy wise, i have not run it that long to experience running off of cheap timers.
I will recommend ikea timers as they are cheap and slim! Have been running for 7 months and no problems encountered so far. The timers are 30mins block but are not as precise as digital timers.
I use the digital timer from either home fix or self fix. It allows you to program multiple timing for different days of the week, you definite your own permutations, it has function for you to switch on/off power if the timer is off/on respectivity, and very easy to set. The down side as mentioned by others, its bulky and cost around $15-20 each.
Which section is the ikea timer usually locate at, the lighting section?
