Are you using Ada soil? If yes it will produce ammonia during the first few weeks. It's recommended to do frequent water changes to reduce the excess ammonia.

This tank I'm using ANS planta soil. will do water change as soon as possible
New tank will preferably to have short light window, like 6 hrs/ day. And you could increase progressively once it's cycled. This mean to keep deactivated algae spores during your tank parameters is heading to equilibrium area.
I suggest you keep multiply these fast growing plants for the time being, this to capped your ammonia from spike level, and you could gradually remove them with your favorite .plants when it's doing well. Alternatively you could in due diligent way do water change 2-3x weekly 50 - 60 %. It might caused troublesome for big tank, but i don't see this reason for 2ft tank.
Enjoy your journey, and keep journals

You should start trying. I've being cycling my tank for 4 weeks but ammonia still sky high because first 2 weeks I never do water change. Only realize recently that water change is crucial.

Sorry to ask, but the soil is new, I suppose there should not be a need to do water change?

Center plant is Water wisteria

plants melting not more then maybe 10% still can close one eye. but your's is only towards the front correct? might be due to led light spread.
if the current is gentle, try help your co2 by placing diffuser lower while maintaining where it is below now. give longer exposure.
If you can, put a fan up. plants like it cool too
great to see another attempt by you again Roy.![]()

Thanks for identify the plant . Water wisteria bubble a lot, but only right side of the tank pearl more, I guess is because of the CO2 distribution ?
My worry is that during the last few hours of the sun, the sunlight will shine into that corner of the tank. Could it be the reason that causes the melting as well ?
I don't quite understand the LED light spread part you mention. Care to explain a little bit more ? Thanks
Thanks felix_fx2 !! Still learning, and realise I really enjoy to see the plants grow.
Depend on what kind of soil. It is well known that brand new Ada soil will consistently release ammonia during first few weeks. If you do a google search, you will see many results regarding this.

If you can at least temporarily relocate your drop checker more towards the front and bottom, it might give you a better indication if it's due to a lack of circulation/co2 that's affecting the glosso or it's because of lower light.
I have my tank setup so the intake is in front and the outflow is at the back, this makes the water flow at the substrate in front better, you may have to relocate or put in some kinda power head or wave maker at low setting to improve flow there if the issue is insufficient flow/co2.

2 hours Glossop time lapse . Too short to see any difference.

Nice. Should do a 8hours time lapse.
