So far I have 1 Zebra and Tiger Pleco in my tank. Looking for a bristlenose. What else can I put in my planted tank?
Hi Sherchoo ! try the common Twig Suckermouth catfish ! or the dwarf Royal Farlowella, both are excellent for planted tank ! cheers ![----------------

akoh, got a twig suckermouth from gan, supposed to be good algae eater right? so far 2 weeks already but never even see the guy eat anything, not to mention produce any green poo!
only good thing is, it is so bo chap it is easy to catch if you want to remove it.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

choy, the green poo is an indication that they have been feeding on algae... I got 2 of them and after a while, they 'disappear'.. a bad thing abt having a heavily planted 6ft []

yah ! they're almost invisible or well camouflaged in heavily planted tank.
They're really excellent algae eater ! especially the Dwarf Royal Farlowella ! just give them some time to " perform lah ! " cheers ! [

I thought it is said never to get the royal. So the dwarf royal is good but the royal is not, isit?

hwchoy ! I have a few Royal farlowella and the biggest I had " was " a 12" fellow, I still have one which is about 10" in length, they are KNOWN to create havoc in planted tank when they swim ! and perch ! . A dwarf Royal farlowella on the other hand is more gentle when they swim !, max. size I have kept is about 6" . Hence I reckon dwarf should do okay !.----------------
