After 9 Years ....I'm Finally Back!

Hi Everyone

Its been 9 years since I decommissioned my 3 planted tanks in 2005 due to my work posting to Malaysia.

Finally, with more time in my hands, I am back to start again my passion for planted aquaria.

Much has changed since 2005...and I realized how outdated I am now...LOL!

This Saturday, my tank will arrive....it is an Ehiem MP Tank 120cm x 50cm x 60cm

The original founder of AquaRealm is Simon and Sky.....LOL!

The original founders of AQ is Simon, Sherchoo, DEA, Jacian, and myself.....the website admin was Lorba if I am not wrong...then to Vinz .....I think somewhere in the middle Thomas was involved....Kevin was the one who pushed the Marine section......I think the one that worked the HARDEST is Simon....the AQ Logo was and is designed by Simon.....

There was then, and is today a lot of support from very knowledgeable hobbists who are prepared to be moderators and sacrifice time and effort during the teeth stages of AQ....there was a lot of support from supporting industries that provided equipments, livestock, space and time too.... During my time before I retired, I remembered 3 major projects...

1. Planted tank workshop at Gan's

2. Planted tank workshop at Teo's

3. The first AQ planted tank competition.

A lot of excursions as well.....Above all else are the forumers who makes the whole community works....So I guess in different ways what AQ is today is part of everyone who makes AQ their community.....

It is very different ball game now. Back then We complete against Playstation 2. Now we complete against Apple Corporation! Can you imagine.. Ipad, Galaxy and etc. Children these days don't play old school hobby anymore. The hobby on the whole realllyy slow down a lot.

Back in 1998-2005 circa.. the hobby was at its height partly due to the bloom of internets, forums, hybrid cichlids, cichlid forever, pet safari, sam yick branches, pet mart, H20, all fuelling it.

The more I talk the more I sound like an old broken radio.

The game is still the same ...just that the methods have changed. All it take is a catalyst that binds all the different supporting industries as one and ultimately the equation to the game changes....basically the industry needs a game changer....

one way i believe is to approach schools and educational institutions or even grassroots organisations like RC and PAs... I tried... but failed...
