DIY Shop like Self Fix/Home Fix?
yes you can do that as well, it would be nice. You can get frosted sticker from DIY shop.
DIY Shop like Self Fix/Home Fix?
yes, if I remember correctly around $25 per roll. Unfortunately they don't sell in smaller size, I'm not sure if neighborhood DIY hardware shop sell in small quantity.
Finally flooded the tank. The amount of HC needed was much more than anticipated...
I think the stones are too small and the top feels empty. Ehiem 2215 seems to be just nice as I can see water movement all around the tank.
Did a water change today (2nd day), Started high CO2 injection and dosed NPK and traces and noticed pearling of HC at the opposite side of the outlet.
Question: where should I place my drop checker?

Drop checker anywhere will do your tank do not have anything that can considerably block water flow.
I think you need a big rock at least 3-4 times larger than that biggest rock in your tanks
Do not visit LFS if you got nothing in mind, you will end up getting nothing or useless stuff ......
I introduce 2 borars merah that I been having into the tank and noticed they are only swimming at the side. I reckon it's due to the strong currently by the jet outflow pipe i'm using. Anyone using Lily pipe has the same experience? Should I get an quick disconnect valve to control the outflow or change to rain bar? If rain bar, any nice one to recommend haha.
Hi Ingen,
sorry to side-track abit, I notice that you had place some sort of wire meshing along the slope, I understand the purpose is actually to prevent landslide/soil erosion. May I ask what is the best practise in placing them? Is there any website or youtube which we can reference to? What about if we were to place plastic meshing (stacking them to the required height):

will that help? Sorry for the many questions and thank you in advance for your advise.
Im not sure about any best practices. I saw a video from green machine using this technic, I inserted those to support the surface of the slope, so far so good. I imagine it as a sort of layer holder to keep the substrate in place at different level.
I believe the egg crate plastic is good to help build the height quickly and keep in place the substrate that filled the holes, I reckon you will have substrate covering the top of the multiple layers of plastic, it may not hold or slow down the surface of the slope from flowing down.
Hope it helps
Hi Ingen,
Thank you so much for the pointers. That will be real helpful to me. By the way, good luck for your iwagumi style. Found this on the web, rather unique, you'll need lots of trimming:

No lah, I am not that pro yet. Give me another 10 years of experience. Just start this hobby months back, when my little ger wanted tortoises. That strike me an idea to pick up aquarium and after reading and reading made me turn to aquascaping.
So you might had thought of it, finally I might have destroyers in my planted tank! Wahahaha...
