    Hi Guys,

I saw this video of a group of B Cupido and some Geophagus Altifrons. Question is, will all Cupidos colour up to become yellowish with good water and food or is this dependant on the locality of the fish.

    Thanks.

Many factors come into play where the colors are concerned. Unless a specific population shows a distinct color form, like the different populations of Apistos do, then it's hard to say. In a tank with a darker substrate, my Bolivian Rams would display a different set of colors as compared to when I moved them to a sand bottom tank.

most cupido will colour up like this as they mature, when young or in the fish store they tend to be a washed out greyish white, but give them good water , good food and some time and they will develop the gold and red colours on the fish in your link
