Bro. How many drops of each did you put. I notice you measuring slightly above 5ml while the required is 10ml.

Why the ceramic rings? I have a fire red tank with moss as well. Us fiss and mini fiss.

yes I'm following your threat too! =) actually those ceramic are just leftovers lying around in my cabinet, I used it to
1. Add more media to sort of alleviate the soil level higher
2. More media for building up of beneficial bacteria as my filter is rather small. The filter was previously used for another tank.
I see I see. For me, I invested in a second hand eheim 2213. Bought it for around $50 without media. Not cheap but still worthwhile in the end.
You cant take any risks with shrimps as their quite delicate. My first batch of juveniles are still growing up.
Now the problem im facing is the adults are slowing dying off one by one.
And the next is that I have no idea how to harvest my mini fiss.i would like to transfer them or tie them up to my bogwood but have no experience how. Any tips?

I never tried US Fissidens but I gues should be the same as Mini Fissiden. I started off with 2 mesh, all the others you see on driftwood and meshes are self tied.
here's a good article on how to tie moss on mesh: http://www.littlegreencorner.com/howtotiemoss.html
As for driftwood, I employ the same technic. After awhile the mini fissidens will attach themselves on the driftwood and I removed the fishing line. They will grow over time and look more bushy
As for harvesting, I just trim them from the meshes when they grow longer and re-tie it. CO2 do helps in improving growth rate.
Thanks bro. Will check out the link. My fishing lines are still attach even though my mini fiss are about 1-2cm long

Hey nicholas, able to share the price of your fire reds via pm?

Nice and Neat tank...
Ph should be dropping after that...

You should start adjusting your water parameter when your tank is about to complete its cycle.
Erm...fire Red or yellow should be a good choice.
Please dont rush into adding shrimps in until your tank has fully cycled. I have had many casualties because of placing them into my tank too early.

camping here...

DAY 7 UPDATE:
Ammonia = 8ppm
PH = 6
No water change done, only top up with tap water treated with de-chlorinator and prime.
Try to keep the ammonia below 5ppm. If its too high, it may slow the cycle down too
