your one confirn is corrosion inside the pin chamber. i have that one too, its suppose to be able to take out with little effort.

you knock the below and the pin will come up right?

i got it working but problems kept coming back to haunt me. so eventually got the current jbl from marketplace.

    Re: Where to buy Solenoid

You have at least one check valve in your Co2 system yeah? I'd make sure that's working properly before replacing the solenoid just to avoid any kinda waster backflow from causing issues with the new solenoid. Usually water backflow is the issue, combined with Co2, the water becomes an acid and starts attacking everything...

I usually put two check valves between bubble counter to solenoid, and another one at the output (diffuser), kiasu you may say, but would rather be, than to get my solenoid corroded

Hmm... I have one valve each (metal type) installed both in the input and output and do not see any trace of water droplet. Is there any other way to confirm backflow?. Even doubling the check valve wont be able to foolproof.

After reading your post,I am thinking if the OceanFree CO2 Regulator with bubble counter at the regulator is safe or not. The reason is because I have seen the bubble counter water level dropping slowly, not sure is it evaporation or the water went back into the solenoid. I have 2 check valves but they are after the bubble counter and before the diffuser.

No good way to test it out, unless you can actually see the water going backwards, confirming there is backflow. I had 2 metal check valves with a glass bubble counter. and it was backflowing, i only knew because I saw the level of fluid in the bubble counter change day to day.

Bought from seaview, 3mtr packing labelled co2 hose. Never gave much thought when my CO2 hose popped at the submerged end 2 days ago. But now that the quality of hose is in question I am curious as to the worst scenario in the event of a leaking hose. Besides wasted co2 does it pose any potential damage to equipment?.

    3mtr means?

If the co2 hose pop, you should question why your equipment don't have secure the co2 pipe. If the hose burst, the material the hose is made of not so good...

Octopus: I used a lighter to soften the end of my tubing before I connect to my glassware. I am using the ANS CO2 tubing. They are harder than normal airline tubing.

CO2 tubing are usually polyurethane tube that can handle much higher pressure and reduce co2 losses.

3 meter long. Wrong choice of word I was trying to say it burst. I have bee using the hose close to 6mths. What is the lifespan of co2 hose?

Next time don't use short form like this. it's considered sms lingo and is aganist AQ rules, i almost thought it's some measurement term i had never heard of.
My current ones are, longer then 2 years in planted. Their already with me erm, 6-7 years, not sure why but i have alot of airline tubes when i just kept fish only.

I've burst airline tubes before when i was new, used those softer ones & turned to 3.5BPS.. it went hehe.

I checked my hose 'polyurethane ' printed on the hose. I was blasting countless bps when I was using potting soil. Could that have resulted in the premature wear and tear?.

Apologise for the unintentional SMS lingo. Originally typed 3M but thought it could be mistaken for a famous brand so corrected it to mtr.

    Re: Where to buy Solenoid

Well, there's a difference between 3m and 3M. See which is easier understood and not misunderstood.

It also depends on which type of output you're using as well. That time I was using an inline diffuser which required over 40psi, however my regular only allowed around 35psi. I thought that by blasting CO2 I could bring up the pressure of the working regulator, but instead the pressure and volume of air built up inside my polyurethane tube and caused the tube to split and break, breaking tube tube itself and also my inline diffuser.

It's about getting everything right, including the method of injecting the co2 into the tank, else it would fail at its weakest link, which ever it is.
