    hi bros

    bro Stormhawk...fancy meeting you here....

bro zerofighterx101, bro Stormhawk is probably right about the sex based on the shape of the body. To confirm, look at the bottom of the belly - there should be a prominent white dot.

Males have it too sometimes, the "egg spot", but the short pelvic fins are a giveaway. I got some females that have long anal fins etc but very seldom long pelvic fins.

Dun think its a good idea to mix a show betta male with females. Unless the tank is a 2 footer and lots of hiding places.

Risk is, the male may kill the female if she is not ready to spawn.

The risk could be lowered by having more females (1:3) or having other "target" fishes to distract the male.

The only experience I have keeping males and females in the same 1,5 feet tank are all wild bettas, btw.

Do not add a male if your females are co-existing peacefully. If I have a male together with the female I make sure they are in a community tank with a lot of other fishes. I have some young bettas growing up in a community tank with swordtails etc and they do fine. Apart from the occasional frayed fins from fighting, they get along well enough. In fact I got several young ones in a Satellite L box hanging off my community tank. A mix of males and females, they do fight but because of the cramped space they don't fight much as long as I keep them well-fed.

    Re: ID the Plakat pls...

If you add the extra female and male, with sufficient hiding space it will be workable. However, I'd suggest you find a male that is not too aggressive.
