    Hi gurus,

    I'm using a 36W x 4 3ft lightset currently...using 4 6500K tubes

I'll like to ask for your advice if it is ok for me to put 2 6500K PL tubes and 2 8000K PL tubes?

    thanks in advance!

Why not? Don't see any potential problems with mixing the lights.
    Cheers!!

hmm, ok, was told that 8000K tubes are currently out of stock in the market right now....

    is 6 x 36W PL tubes too much for a 3ft x 1.5ft x 1.5ft tank?

    Way way too much.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

you follow the widely used 'guide' of 2-3w/gallon.
    >3w for high light tanks.
do note that high light tanks are less forgiving.

lowering the amount of lights is better.
you can't cut lighting hours too much as plants will not have enough energy.
reducing fertilizer dosage may cause lacking of certain nutrients leading to algae.
