Having had quite a good deal for a dolphin 40cm aquarium(low quality budget stuff)
ive decided to move my 1ft low light tank this 40cm tank. though of making a moss carpet again but finally decided on a river scape
so here goes nothing
some final shots of the previous setup.
reusing same stone in my 1ft,forgot how much stone there is in therecovered up by the spiky moss.
kind of tired during rescaping so sorry for only having few shots of the progress..
regret that i didnt take more pictures haha.. moved the entire driftwood from my previous setup and just reposition it.
retie spiky and flame moss, sand in and fill it up.
final product
actually made a rookie mistake by being lazy, didnt test the sand as ive used it for my previous monster fish setup(assumed that its safe) few days later found one of my best looking male shrimp died because of a bad molt. tested some left over sand with white vinegar and it sizzled like coca cola..end up replacing the sand, currently the tank have a much lighter colour sand. pics to come

Can you share a step by step guide to your 2 stone scape at the sides? Im planning to do a stone scape as well with just mini and us fiss.
Tips and advice appreciated

The pictures that were posted on this thread. I would like to create a river biotope as well and would need inspirations and a guide in doing it.

your left drift wood looks like want to run away.. ;P

Hmmm.. i created this tank with the idea of making a moss priority tank, because its going to be a non co2 injected tank
so for the slope i can just put in bags of bamboo charcoal and bio ring for height(later covered with amazonia), then i just lay my stones around the bags using 3:2 ratio(3 on right side, 2 on left side)
after that i simply ties moss on lava rock to fit in the gaps between the rocks and in goes the soil.
hope my lousy explanation helps![]()
Cool. The problem for me now is getting the kind of rocks that I want for the scape. Still looking aroubd for them
