Are you still looking for GEX MEGA POWER 2045? 32b74d7077.jpg
I decommed 3 of them which I connected in series, hence got 2 sets the accessories like pump, hose, medias are all unused. PM me if interested
I'm not a mod, so it's alright with me, but just feel that it's not right to do so. Imagine if you're selling marimo ball at $xx. and someone online reveal the price of your competitor at $xx-1. All your customers will be 'stolen' from you overnight. But that aside, no hard feeling though. we all learn from mistakes

Well, i think we can live with just one reminder, right? And the message was posted 4 hrs later when i did not receive a response yet and there's no pm features available to me yet. Given that Rein is not bringing in this model to local market and it's quite hard to locate 1. If i were to excessively post ups and bumps, then it'd be inappropriate. Cheers :P

Hi bros, a few questions on the shrimps behavior and updates. Pardon me for the blurry photos, taken with iPad only.
Tested the effect of ice pack bought from Daiso (the big one 350g). It seems only able to bring down temperature of 2dc-3dc... My tank is around 29dc in the night... Must be sauna to the shrimps. The effect only lasted around 3hrs in the night, meaning not much use in daytime...

Notice my shrimps will be... Frozen motionless when i put in the ice pack, seems like sleeping to me?
However, it did introduce molting successfully and promptly.

So if my shrimps can molt, does it means water is considered stable (as in livable condition)?
I also notice that when my shrimps are quiet... They are very very quiet... I roll the moss ball around also doesn't affects them. And they can keep still for a very long time. Is this ok?
But sometimes they will also swim frantically around for... Maybe 1-2hr only, usually towards the water flow from rain bar. Is it normal?
Purchase this cheap shrimp food call Corina Shrimp Delight from auntie at C328, auntie mentioned alot of shrimp keepers buy this... Is it good enough? It seems to flake alot, clearing will be an issue if i accidentally drop too much
So far, 6 days into cycling and no carcasses. Is this a good sign?

Are those yellow back and sakura or fire shrimp? I am no expert in shrimp keeping, however I keep these two types previously and had them breeding without using chiller. They are pretty hardy based on my personal experience. I am unsure about keeping them 6 days into the cycling process, especially the yellow back, mine didn't survive long and I had to keep getting new ones (Lesson learnt) until my tank was at least 3 months old, that's when they start to thrive.
I believe the red and the yellow will cross breed, may other experts can confirm this. It will result in a brownish color (I read it was the natural color) generation (also learned it the hard way).

small tanks hard to control since water volume is low. temperature need to take it with a pinch unless you can do it like polyart (keep changing )
if any deaths happen during cycling don't take it so hard. most of us impatient and add livestock when just start.
for behavior wise, must ask shrimp expert. but my guess is should not be like that, maybe shocked by the temperature since up down too fast in small tank.

@ingen - hehe, previously mentioned i bought a few cherries (photo too red maybe due to over-saturation) from Polyart to test water condition, think the uncle scooped in one yellow FOC. Not sure which yellow it is, but seems to have a yellow stripe along the back. Currently testing for survivability, not for breeding.
@felix_fx2 - thanks for the tip, will keep in mind. Anyway i only have like time to put in the icepack once a day for that short couple of hours, the rest of the day water hovers at room temperature. Will only upgrade to chiller if all is good and i'm prepared to roll in 2 more tanks for rilis and crs/cbs.
Currently juggling time over reservist/motorbike lessons/shrimp tank... Sighz

Definitely, You really don't notice the difference in the two types of stones once it's filled with water and plants. the white calcite veins are really what make the rock pop. It took me a couple of batches of seiryu stones to find the right ones for my little 6 gallon.
Naraki, sink that front seiryu stone a bit more into the substrate - it will look WAY more natural. love the tank BTW

Some questions, adding those from previous post, hope can get more tips from the bros here. So far no casualties. Added 4 green(?) and 4 fire red shrimps from C328.
(Previous post)
1. Shrimps can molt means environment stable?
2. Shrimps too quiet, motionless for a long time when temperature goes down about 2 degrees even after disturbed. Are they ok?
3. Frantically swim towards water flow from rain bar, common or needs air (as in water not aerated enough)? I didn't use the air pump.
(Addons)
4. I introduced a fan, now water temperature maintains around 27d, with topping up of approximately 250ml de-chlorine, aged water daily.
Shrimps remain shy, hides more often into crevices and less active... Something i do wrong?
5. Are the green shrimps same as cherries? I notice... Its not green at all, only 1 same color as my moss, 3 others looks plain greyish.
6. Lastly, i notice little translucent patches around 1mm along my tank wall, i assume these are algae growth and should not disturb it right?
But i do notice some very tiny creatures.... Real small, less than i suppose 0.2mm (just like a speck of dust) crawling in circle on my tank wall... Am i safe?
Thanks in advance.

Wow! After glueing my eyes on the tank for 4hrs, i finally caught a glimpse of molting happens right in my sight!
Pity i didn't had it on video nor a great camera
I always thought molting occurs isolated in dark corners and is a long process, proves i'm wrong! Maybe the buildup is long.
Occurs at 0530hrs, the carapace tilts slightly and the shrimp would curl up...
Then in a blink, it jerks out of the exo-skeleton in a split second!
I notice the newly molted shrimp would look weak for the next few minutes, walking like "drunken prawn" (pun intended) falling here and there.
It will then slowly crept to a crevice and hide. Cool!
Now i feel like i have a mini personal "Discovery Channel" right on my desk! Time to catch some mating scenes.
Damn, i feel like younger 25 years already!

Recent studies shows that putting recent studies in your statement have a higher percentage of trust people put into your recent studies. What?

@Naraki - noted the inputs, thanks bro.
2. Yeah, really motionless, not even the front claws... Like sleeping state, only the feelers.
3. Understand, will commission in my tiny pump soon.
4. My water is aged for 2 days and declorinated. PH haven't test. Maybe i'd do a quick test today after reservist. I'm slowly pouring in the water from bottle bit by bit... Very slowly, around 5 minutes while i puff.
5. Thanks for the tip. I'm really not into breeding yet that's why i mixed them. Trying to get a varieties of colors in this tank of neocaridina.
6. Pictures are hard... The patches are 1mm, Tiny creatures around 0.2mm... I don't think my iPad or HTC phone can capture such details. Maybe i'd refrain from scrubbing them with my Daiso sponge first and let them grow a couple of day see how.
Appreciate much!
