Yes, it does look like BGA.

I plan to try the blackout method.
Bga, either lack co2 distribution or NO3

confirm BGA, you can trim the effected part and siphon it. Black out does not work well with HC.
just cut out infected areas and after removing, siphon the area. improve your water circulation. I am more curious what are those white dots....are those moving? If they are, they are planarian and this could mean you are overfeeding.
With poor water circulation, rotting food and fish poo accumulates at certain areas .... causing high NO3 and BGA loves this scenario especially with high amount of lights.

Thanks for the advice!
I am not sure about the white dots. I have just flood my tank after DSM so I dun think it is due to overfeeding.
Yeap, I will try to improve my water circulation after I flood my tank. What will be a good way to circulate the water? I plan to attach a lily pipe outlet to my filter.
Hi Patrick
I don't really know the size of your tank nor the filter flow rate you have...all I know is that lily pipes does slow down in-tank flow rate. This can be a good and bad thing depending on the size of tank and/or rate of your filter. position it in such a way that water circulates all round the tank. The place to look out for is always the bottom of the tank especially just below the lily pipe which normally gets the less circulation.
The bottom area is important especially if you intend to have a compact and/or thick foreground plants like Hairgrass, Glosso or Tennelus.
PS: DSM = ??? .....![]()

Thats "Dry Start Method"... its basically growing plants emersed for a period of time before filling the tank, something like this:

If I start to remove the affected area and trim away my HC, I guess my tank will soon be botak. I am thinking of doing it the natural way. Improve water circulation and inducing CO2 to lower the pH of my tank.
I read that Erythromycin can kill it, may I know where I can get this chemical? This chemical is known to effect nitrifying bacteria. Is it true?
High NO3 and bright lights. You could use a wide spectrum Antibiotic...but I would not advice it. Siphon with a small tube is the next best option and improve water circulation.
