    Hi all,

I have recently set up a 3 ft planted tank and so far, it's doing well. I currently have 2 clown loaches (about an inch size), 2 corys (3/4 of an inch or so) and 2 platies (1/2 of an inch).

I would like to have a pair of dwarf cichlids in there but I am worried that they may be aggressive. So far, from what I have searched over the internet, they can or cannot live together with these kinds of fish. Some have done well, others unfortunately not.

May I please know if there is any kind of dwarf cichlid species that you may recommend? and if possible, a fish shop (with an experienced owner) who may help to recommend a pair.

    thanks a lot

    hi bro Incredible319

There are basically 2 classes of dward cichlids; South American (mostly apistogrammas) & African (pelvicachromis species- e.g. kribensis).

The African ones are larger & more active - thus they require more space. In addition, they are very similar to the $1 kribensis which are commonly found.

The South American ones require smaller tanks & there are probably over 200 species (some with many forms).

If you like, you can PM me because I have some Mamore fries (about 2 months) to let go. I also have Trifasciata & Hoignei fries but they are kind of small.
