...and don't attempt to buy them unless you have a tank cover. Its not called butterfly fish for nothing....hahahaha....

Seriously, they can be quite skittish fish and when the do have a panic attack, its straight out of your tank and to fishy heaven if you don't get them back to water on time...pretty much like Hatchet Fish.

I think they are a distant relative to the Arowana.

If you keep these and intend to breed them, males have elongated rays in the anal fin. They are surface feeders and will take insects like small crickets and such.
