Need Help for middle ground.

I have been trying to do a dutch-style tank. I have the back ground tall stem plants, front are app and some crypts. But the problem is the middle ground. Is there any recommendation for middle ground that are nice. Thanks.

Anyone staying in the west interested to give some ideas for dutch scaping? Or have plants to spare? Thanks.
