Magnetic Cleaner

Hi friends,

I need recommendation for good and relatively cheap magnetic tank cleaner. Inner piece need to be able float when breaking free from the glass. Both pieces must be able to go around 90 degree tank edge with 12mm glass.

I am using a small size Mag Float for my 2ft tank. It has all above feature but too expensive to invest in a larger one for my 3ft. Bought it from eBay is already almost $30.

from wat i see from most LFS, they are using the same thing. but most of them have moss growing on the inner piece. so i recommend to do take out the cleaner to wash at times, if not it will be almost like those i seen in the shops~

If your tank has gravel got to be careful as gravel lodged in ur magnet cleaner may scratch your tank glass.

I saw the Mag Float at aqua marine yesterday.

Public Announcement.

For those who own these magnetic cleaner, please check periodically especially if you encounter die off and can't be explained. There are a few cases whereby the magnet would rust. A bloated magnetic cleaner is a sure sign that your magnet has rusted.

I'm currently using a small magnetic cleaner from GEX. The inner piece will float if the outer magnet is detached. Does its job well enough.

Please be careful of the quality of magnetic cleaner, i got a scratch on the exterior of my tank because the cushion is too thin and the plastic touches the glass surface...
