    Greetings,
I am doctom. I am interested in Killifish because my grandson is interested in Killifish. In May we went to a Killifish convention in Portland, OR and I bought twu pair of Aphyosemion bitaeniatum ijebu-Ode. I check my ammonia and pH weekly and change water about every other week. I have a 16 gal tank live plants and some challenge keeping a brown algae from covering my plants. Recently I started using an algaecide. I was hoping to see eggs by now. Can anybody take some time to give me some pointers?

Hello and welcome to AQ. It will be good if you could take a picture of the algae in question.

If it is brown algae, Ottos will be able to help you.

Best of you could post a picture.

    Re: Hi Folks!

I cleaned the tank today and removed the brown scum off the plants like bamboo and tossed the others away. It will come back, I think. I'll get a picture of it. One female has died. The two males are very pretty. All three fish spend most of their time in the Java Moss. Sometimes they hang out near the surface.

    Re: Hi Folks!

Do take a picture and post it. It will help.

I am so sorry that the female has died. It may be due to water perimeter or that it may be reaching its life span? I have no experience with Killifishes but I understand that most Killifishes are annuals?

Perhaps you may like to check out the Killifish section in our sub-forum?
