IMO, the background colour and patterns make the tank look small. I imagine even when the tank is planted, it might draw too much attention, unless there are a lot of background plants to block up the bulk of it.

I just got a 3.5 ft tank.
I can't decide if I should keep the blue background or change to a black background. I kind of like the blue background but not sure if it will look natural. The tank will have 2 medium size drift woods, one at the left and a longer on at the right 2/3.
What do you guys think ?[/img]

it might be better if its not so crumple.
But if you have dense planting like juggler's, i dont think it matters.![]()

Victri, Lorba,
Thanks for the advise. I will change to a black background.
I will be quite a while before my plants will be as thick as Juggler's![]()

A black background should be nicer. Or you like to silicone on some of the rock wall styrofoam backgrounds?
Well - my tanks are neglected. So plants grow very thick.![]()
