Edit: Sorry, mistyped the title on my phone. Should be "Sick drawf gourami"!

I have a Dwarf Gourami in a 55L community tank that seems to have fallen sick. It's been floating around the surface lethargically and has developed a dark brownish patch above his eyes. I've been doing regular water changes (+ prime, excel and flourish) and the rest of the tank (guppies, fry, shrimps, corys, nerite snails) are doing fine.

Appreciate if someone could help me diagnose the problem. I have a bottle of paraguard ready.

    Thanks in advance!

    Re: Hello,

Update: I just noticed a thin mucus-like thread sticking out of its gills. Put in a standard dose of Paraguard as it looks like a case of parasites!

It's a dwarf Gourami and it has been doing fine with the guppies (did research before I made the purchase). The shrimps are huge feeder shrimps so they don't disturb each other as well. This setup has been going on for months already, and there hasn't been any fights in the tank (not even with the guppy fry).

    Re: Hello,

Update: The fish is dead. I'll continue dosing ParaGuard for a week just to be sure it doesn't happen to other fish in the tank.
