Netting is your only solution. From the bottom up.

I have this situation. We have a pond, which is about 3m in diameter and about 0.5m deep. There are koi inside originally. So what happened was, one of my colleague threw several white tillapia fishes (which he used for fishing - 3-4cm length) into the pond. What happened now is that these white tillapia has several babies boom and now these tillapia fishes each is about at least a kilogram each.
We have to catch these tillapia out, but we are thinking of how best to do it.Fishing with a rod may catch the koi, using a hand net may be the next best solution. Is there another way? Thanks.

Use a net. Someone need to get in and catch it.
Sound like fun.![]()
Use lots of bread to set up berley to attract tilapia to come and eat, use circle hook and hook a piece of small bread(press at one end to hold the bread) to catch them, i'm sure your friends know how to catch them since he use the tialpia as baits. I've use tialapia as baits to catch Temensis. When using circle hook, you dont need to strike like normal fishing, just let the fish pull by itself, it'll hook at the lip side.
They can be catch easily if you know how to hook them, using small hook cause i believe you can see them clearly.
Another method is you can just lower down the water level and net them.
Another method is setup a fish trap like below video.
