In a serious note, it's because of your Riccia. They are a turbo charged nutrient sucker and if you don't dose enough nutrients you other plants will suffer.
I see. And I think my densa too? So if the rest of plants do not grow well, I will blame it on my riccia.

Re: My trips with planted tank

Thank you for your attention to my tank. Yes, this is a course for me from when I started my planted hobby. A lot of lesson and experiences are gained from your suggestion and comments. Would like to update a bit of my tank:

All HC were melted, so I change to glosso carpet. This is a glosso carpet in their first day.

After 1 month, invested a CO2 cylinder with solenoid, and I am very glad to see the glosso spread well. Here are the latest updated picture, sorry the quality is not very good. Any bro have any suggestion how to take a better picture of planted tank?

    Sharing on my tank:

8 discus: 1 albino turquoise, 1 blue diamond, 2 red melon, 1 snow white, 1 leopard snake skin, 1 checkboard pigeon and 1 normal turquoise, feed on FBW, tetra bit. Only feed with beefheart at weekend before changing water.
Mollies and guppies and tetra neons
2 albino plecos and 5 corys

Eheim 2213 and Eheim 2217 (with biohome plus media)
CO2 at 3 pbs when light is on
Air pump at night when CO2 is off.
T5 aquazonic light with 4 x 39W daily light tube, only turn on from 6pm-11pm. The tank is placed at the balcony so benefit from natural day light.
30% Water change once every week.

And now the plants and fishes are doing well. Just need to trim the plant and change water every week.

I am thinking whether do I need a chiller or not? The weather in Singapore now is fine, but in hot days in summer may my fishes and plants will not do well since my tank is placed on the balcony nearby the window. Can bros here give me suggestion?

Nice tank. Can't advise on the chiller, always been thinking of getting one too. For now, my living room air con is on during the day, mainly for my dogs but I guess the tanks benefits from it too.

Do you know what's the name of the long leave plant, the one on the left side for the first three pictures and shifted to the right for the last two? I bought some from GC but can't recall the name.

Thank you very much. But my tank is at the balcony, nearby the window and will be affected by direct sunlight, so in the summer the temperature can be higher. However the price of chiller is not cheap. I also don't exactly know the name of that, just google to find it is similar to the Hygrophila corymbosa "Angustifolia" (http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/f...ils.php?id=139). However it is quite easy to keep, and now it is quite high.
