Congrats! Not easy as competition is stiff. The centre rock is in fact quite accentuating. The scape will look monotonous without it.

I just came back from Japan, a bit disappointed due to rain on Friday and Saturday. Another failure to capture Mt. Fuji photo . So I get my self couple of ADA product instead

I guess if the judge noticed and commented on the center rock, this means it actually worked well as a focal point.
That is correct, if it was removed, it will be like normal mountain scape. However by removing the stone and change it in rive for example, it will make the tank look deeper. It was in my consideration when I scape but I don't feel like making another mountain with river on it.

Yeah steep down . Actually the retail price of ADA product in Japan cheaper than retail price in Singapore. For example, the wave scissor it was 10500 yen = ~S$133 compare to Singapore retail price S$233. S$100 saving leh

I don't bang so much on the judges comment. Aquascaping is form of art, some judge like some don't, very normal.

Comment written on the IAPLC 2013 contest book actually pretty good. Not sure who written it, Amano maybe but then again all the comment on the book are very nice
"This dynamic Iwagumi layout uses many rough-looking stones, The impression of these stones is not too strong but it is moderately soften by moss, fern and vivid stem plants, Te perfection level of this layout is high with superior expression of cove leading to the background and also with excellent overall composition."
