Well, any weak shrimps which are immobile (even if you see the legs still twitching) are already ill or dying, so its fair game for other shrimps to eat them... they are just starting the "recycling" task earlier.

The shrimps don't actually kill other shrimps, they just eat up the dying or dead ones.

If you find one type of shrimps getting eaten by other types, its usually because those types were probably in poor condition from the start and were dying anyways.

I guess you'll probably get some interesting color combinations... or maybe just wierd ones. Can try and see.

    Re: Question from Newbie

Normally, bluebolt and king kong are expensive shrimps so they will be keep separately to have the species var. pure. To breed out a special var and also to ensure gene characteristics stable is not easy, selective breeding is a must.

For fun, no harm, then anything goes.

have you guys ever had this problem where you feed the shrimps, some do not come out to feast. When they are finally out finding food, theres nothing left. Then you will end up pouring more foods.

    Re: Question from Newbie

I am not sure about shrimps. But for my fishes, I would say survival of the hungriest. I only feed once a day and that amount a day. If you do not snatch your share, you have got plenty of GSA, Fuzz and Hair algae to feed on later on.

Just like in the wild, the fishes will need to hunt for their food.

    Re: Question from Newbie

Does anyone have any idea where to get floating plants in Sg? For example frogbits. Apart from sellers online, I dont see any LFS selling. Anyone?

You can also try C328, i usually see packets of frogbits and duckweed available there too. Best to check on monday, wednesday or friday evenings (when they usually get their plants re-stocked).

    Suzerolt, thanks for the info!
Urban Aquaria, Are you referring to the shop that is filled with tonnes of stuff, or the other one that is not so packed?

    Re: Question from Newbie

Yeah, i'm referring to Clementi Florist and Aquarium (which is the shop commonly referred to as C328 ), its the super packed one... the packs of frogbits are usually placed on the large tray at the walkway in front of the shop.

The other shop is called Polyart, less plant selection but its open 24 hours everyday.

    Re: Question from Newbie

Okay. Ironically, I have never bought anything from c328. They are either always busy, or I have never had luck choosing shrimps because of their never ending flow of customers.
