that's right! I just took the pic this morning when i realized there was a nice flower. Budak gave a good clue too. Alismataceae family. This must be too easy for you guys.

Now to narrow down to which echinodorus this is...

My next challenge will be to ID the plant from the pollen grain of the emersed flower, but I'll need to borrow a microscope with camera for that.

hmmmm.. judging from the size of the flower, the number of pollen grain.. I say it is the E. oriental :P

most of the Echinodorus species have similar looking flowers. whether the pollen grains are much different I do not know.
