The plant on the right, I cant really see clearly, but I do not think it is aquatic.
You put so much soil, what is the soil thickness?
What is your plant at the front? it does not look like foreground plant. It will grow higher no matter how many time you trim.

Your soil is at least 6 inches deep (That took away 25% of the depth) and with the black Portion on top of your tank (I can't figure out what is that). These 2 combine and makes your tank looks compressed.

I think another piece of wood on the right should make your tank look more balance.

PKB bro, appreciate the advice. I was contemplating between rock and dw. I thought rock may spoil the overall picture. You were right! The soil is 6 inches thick (was this way since the first day I set up this tank few months back with advice from Y(forgotten the code number )) the black portion up there was an idea from my father because of the placement of our sofa... the lights blinds us. Haha.

Urban Aquarian bro, you were right! I found these larger species of anubias in seaview as I felt this tank requires larger leaves plants to fill up the picture.

    btw looked like 1.5ft tall.
    if the length is 4ft.

Mukyo bro, no too noon's opinions! I'm open to all comments! appreciate the constructive feedback. I was thinking of a dw as well, shared the same sentiments too.

Tank is 422. 1.5 because of the black tape at the top of the tank. Light was too blinding when we sit down in the sofa looking at the tank. Haha... that was why the tank looked short.

    Hi elwaynetan

    My 2 cents below

    1. remove 1/3 to 1/2 of the soil. need a difference of 4-7cm from the front to the back (back higher by 4-7 cm).
    2. remove the entire right side of the tank plants
    3. shift the left side (plants and wood) by 1 ft to the right
    4. plant hair grass for foreground
    5. rotalas behind the DW.
    6. blyxia between the DW and the foreground plant tier, surrounding the DW, breaking the DW shape.

above steps should give you a base to start off the scaping i think.

Then decide where you want a highlight... choose the highlight type (plant, wood, stone) and trial and error.
I am balding but i am still young!

Interesting layout in your previous setup... is that a shelf attached to the background of the tank, and you can plant on the shelf too?

Urban Aquarian bro, that was a piece of glass 1\4 at the back of the aquarium. I wanted to elevate the background and plant hair grass while the glass can be covered by some plants. But, the idea was soon abandoned after a pair of angels became breeding pair. And we had to split the tank.
