My present resun filter is too ineffective, and I see lots of "particles" floating around in my 2ft(those shallow kind). Will be getting a better internal filter for it. Any particular thing I shhould watch out for when doing the change? I understand by now my old filter would have bb. By doing a change to a new with bb-less filter, would it do anything bad for my plants and fishes??

What you can do is to run both filters together for a couple weeks, then remove the old filter. That's more than enough time for the BB to build up in the new filter.

Or... fill half the new filter with old filter biological media.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Did you open the filter and check the filter wool efficiency? Because sometimes water did not get to be filtered through the wool but flowed around it and leaving the water cloudy.

You can try to pack in more filter wool in your current filter. Over time, as bigger particles get trapped, even finer particles will be filtered. And water will be very clear.

try to change less water during the time when the filter media is like new. try something like 25% for the first -2 weeks.
    Cheers
