GH perhaps, since they are absorbing magnesium and calcium as part of micro, slowly not fast as macro nutrient.

Hi - I'm just wondering if we have many emersed plants in the tank, will this effectively help reduce the hardness of the water by absorbing the dissolved salts? Rgds

If you are local just do frequent water changes will bring down hardness

When you mention hardness, are you referring to General Hardness (GH) or Carbonic (or is if Carbonate, KH) Hardness?
