For acrylic, I usually visit them at Toh Guan to get supplies for DIY:

in my opinion, acrylic sheets are better glass as they are lighter and won't shatter on impact.
Hi all as said in title does anyone know where i can get those? And please also advise whether i should get glass or acrylic. Pretty much a standard 3ft tank. The tank vapourises too fast and i do travel a lot so sometimes filling water is a prob. Thanks.

Thanks! Can i ask them to cut for me or they only sell big sheet?
sure, they will cut to your dimension/thickness. Actually you can ask for a quote over the phone before going down.
This was what I use to do for covers when I had my tank. I go Dama cut 12mm acrylics. It's thick so it won't warp. Go GC, buy the lid holders from GUSH. They come in various sizes to suit your tank thickness. U can cut glass too at one of the shops at veerasamy road. I didn't try glass though.
Whats GUSH? Where is it? I'm looking around for lid holders but couldn't find any.
If you are using acrylic, please go for a slightly thicker sheet. Acrylic may warp and the clarity may change over time due to the water condensing on the lower surface and depositing minerals from the water over time. If you are looking for supports to hold up the cover, just get those tank divider clamps with rubber suckers. Remove the suckers and place the divider clamps on the 4 panes of glass then you're good to go.

That is a really good piece of advice for me too! Cheers!
GUSH is the brand. You can get it from Green Chapter,
Stormhawk's right. The water spray and mineral deposit plus the thickness of the acrylic sheet impedes light to an extent. And when you wipe the sheet clean, you definitely get some scratches over time. I've tried 12mm and no warping for the 6 months I was using. However, light PAR and light intensity will diminish with this extra barrier you have placed. I didn't test scientifically on the PAR values when I was using acrylic so what I mention is just my experience and opinions for all to share.
