    Hi kuni,

Curious to know more about your breeding technics.

Can sent some pictures of your red cyrstal and do u still have anymore for sale after the 1pm session with the same price ?

I juz received some cyrstal red from my friend from Japan, are u able to identify the grading for me ? See " My Crystal Red Bee Shrimp" gallery
    http://www.arofanatics.com/members/index.php?

Anyway, do you breed any other shrimps ?

Hope to meet in Mid August,

    Cheers

    Hi, Xbox,

    I reviewed your Gallery.
The picture in the Gallery that you stated "this is what I wabt",
should be "S Grade",in the rainking of S,A,B,C.

By the way, is it images of your tank or not ?

    Regards, Kuni

I think this shrimp is quite easy to breed,
for those people who can manage to keep Red Cherry Shrimp.

    Regards, Kuni[/quote:88437261d0]

    Hi Kuni,
I am just an beginner and therefore cannot afford to buy any, however Just out of my curiousity. You mentioned it is easy and for those who can manage to keep Red Cherry shrimp...
Can I assume that if I put these crystal red shrimps in my current red Cherry shrimp tank, it will survive??
If so, maybe alot of us here could manage this shrimp then propogate further to make it more economical...

    Hi, Kenneth.

    Yes, that is true.
I can not garantee, but I think it survives.

In Japan, many people have been successfully breeding,
but the demand is very strong.

I often go to Japan, but it is very difficult to buy "good color one"
in market, as everybody wants to keep in his hand.

    Hi Kuni San,
Thanks for the info, you sure interest me in joining breeding this shrimp...

In the photos from the site, there's a 'pink' plate of food that these shrimps are gathering.. I don't read Japanese, but what's that??
My shrimp's diet is mainly the moss and algae grown in the tank...
    Is there any special diet?

Just wondering... what if a crystal red shrimp mix breed with a cherry red shrimp, can they breed also?

Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us and pardon me for asking so many questions...

    Cheers

    Hi, Kenneth,

The red one is fine worm.
I think you can get this very easily
    from Local Fish Shop.

But, please be sure that worm will bring Planaria and many things come out at your fish tank.

I never put Crystal and Red Cherry tegother in same Tank,
they may not fight each other, but they may make hybrid, not sure.

I recommend not to put it tegother.

    Hi Kuni,
Er, we can't see the pictures, maybe the uploading is not done correctly.

Didn't get any replies from my pm to you...anyway, I am keen in getting in a good pair of crystals as I want to try my hands at breeding them. I have recently gotten a chiller and had run in my revamped tank for about a month already....All system looks good, so I think I am ready to keep some crystals. Can you let me know if you have any available to sell....thanks.

    Hi xbox, Kuni,
Obviously, you two are the experts on crystals in the forum. Can I check with you how do you tell the grade of the shrimps apart? What are the differences between S, A, B, C...I can't find any info on this.
Btw, I was at Mermaid and the owner sold me a pair of Crystal Black. They look like bees to me (though, like better grade). Anyway, I took a pair...cost me $5 each. So, is there really such a thing as Crystal Black?

    Arthur.

PS. Sadly, one of the "crystal black" died...the other one is doing ok. Think I introduced it into the tank too hastily...

there is no sure thing as Black white Crystal. They are actually Bumble bee shrimp. Hybrid version of the bumble bee shrimp is the Crystal Red shrimp.

Therefore, what i can said is the shop may try to "CON" u.

This is just my veiw, maybe i'm be wrong.

    Thanks xbox.

I don't think the owner was "conning" me...as he seems quite a decent guy and is indeed rather knowledgable in the art of keeping shrimps.
Maybe he is misinformed himself....this is new territory we are all embarking on......

Re: Crystal Red Bee Shrimp at Local Fish Shop

    [quote:cd6fd66de2="kuni"]Hi, all.

I can see some of the local fish shop are selling
    Crystal red.

How do you think which shop is selling best color with
    reasonable price ?
I also want to buy, if they are reasonable, for my own breeding.

    Please advice.

    Oh, yes,
My S-Grade can be viewed at Marmeid at Ang Mo Kio Avenue10,
and C-Grade at Maemeid( and Fish&Pets at analalai avenue near 6avenue at Bukit Timah(6466-3413).

    Best regards, Kuni [/quote:cd6fd66de2]

C328 now carrying semi grade-a CRS. i just bought some for myself at $16. pretty satisfied with the grades.

Lake aquarium at ginza is selling grade-c crs @ $18. not very nice but they are all really huge. will check if they do improve in their grading over the weekend.

y618's chris said that he will start to get crs in again when the price drops. there was once when y618 was selling crs straight from japan. grade-a at @ $18 each. regreted that i did not buy them at that time. very nice coloration.
