    Yeah, most aquarists keeping sensitive fishes/shrimps who use RO systems to filter their water do it with tap water (which is already considered "safe" to drink from the tap).

    Though i guess if used aquarium tank water were processed through an RO system, it'll probably clog up the pre-filter and membrane much faster.

    I used Hyflux's membrane filtered water the daily evaporation top up . The water that came out from the membrane filter is ultrapure and could be drank as it is. For weekly water changes, i swopped out close to 30litres each time. The old water will go into a few watering cans to water the plants. My plants grew fat green leaves due to the liquid ferts and nitrates! The leftovers will be used to clean the sponge intake filters. By the time the intake sponges are clean, the pail of water will be murky brown.

    Our SG water are really soft and is nearly devoid of minerals. To harden them up a bit, i use a little of Sera's Mineral Salt as well as Eiho's KH+ mineral at less than half the recommended dosage.
