    hi guys! found so happiness in my tank but only have one egg, is it normal or is it even really an egg?


    it's my first preg shrimp so i'm not too sure, thanks for the advice!

    No its not normal, yes it is an egg. Most probably due to stress the female dropped most of the eggs. Possibly due to water conditions or other causes. However in most cases i find that the female drops all eggs, guess yours is a special scenario.

    If this is the first time your shrimp get berried, it might be normal.
    I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that your tank is having any problems yet.
    In most cases, I notice that the shrimp will kick out the egg still.

    Just monitor when it gets berried again.
    When they kick out they will not pick up the eggs.
    If the eggs is dead they will eat it.

    That's great! Since they keep getting pregnant I guess your water parameters should be good Hope that in about a month you will have many shrimplets in your tank!
