Nice!
Can maybe create some christmas trees with moss and a stick bogwood branch and stack them like the black forest..
please pardon the hastily taken photograph.
i tried to create something for christmas, so i thought,
why not a snow/winter theme "mountain" scape...
still some fine tuning to do. as its position is below eye level
(on my office desk), it looks better from a slightly elevated view![]()

I am balding but i am still young!
thought of doing that.
not sure if it will affect the scale of the scape or not.
could give that a try![]()
cut chopstick into half and tie with the moss, it'll look like Christmas tree.![]()

What is the white stuff? White Sand? Salt?
Inspired by AmanoLimited by Yusof Ishak
thanks for the input guys!
really appreciate it
by the way i try to scape it in a way that is not too literal.
the white "sand" is something quartz like, looks artificial for sure,
i bought it at NA.
Nice rocks you have there
nice setup, but headache to maintain ....

The title below my name does not make me a guru...listen at your own risk!...
Nice snowscape but quite difficult to do plantings to match the concept. Personally, the only plant which I can think of is red foxtail commonly seen at SV. It look very "autumn" almost like "pine tree". The good think is, red foxtail is quite easy to grow (like hornwort). I grew it in my low tech tank before. You can trim the plant's head regularly and replant them like miniature along the mountain side to create a "brown forest" effect. Give it a thought, quite cheap plants and easy to maintain and if you decided it doesn't match, the price paid is nothing more than 2 cups of coffee.

IMO, at the moment it is lack of focus point, not sure once you finish planting. If the biggest rock suppose to be focus point, then the location is too center. The color of 2 rocks at the front does not match.
the finished article.
sort of.
dont intend to have many plants.
trying to create a winter sort of look. with mainly hardscape
intended focal point as indicated in this pic below.
still need to improve on my presentation/arrangement skills.
its close to what i have in mind, but still missing something though,
im rather pleased with it now, but probably wont be in a few months time.![]()
I feel the focal point still to center, but the scape is great to look at as it is! Just a thought, can try some flame moss at the back, put them in small cluster, they grow upwards looking like a Christmas tree.
The problem is you have 3 paths, so the focus point end up to be the biggest rocks which is unique. You can try to make the other 2 path to be less obvious or you can put bright light at the back during photo taking to make viewer draw to it. Something like sunset or sunrise.
It is much nicer then when it start. I think you need to be more serious on the Aquascaping, you have great talent.
Very nice!!!!! I would give it a touch of drama by putting miniature polar bear along the snowy trail![]()
