ADA Super Jet, what so special on it?

Slip across my mind and feel intriguing to discuss,

stepping aside branding and pricing, what made them so special ? Just because it's stainless steel and external pump?

Anyway, I forgot to add. I will still take an Eheim any day over ADA. ADA just makes the best substrate.

It is both, because of the design and the magnectic pump.
But if i have the ADA super jet i will not keep it inside the cabinet.
The pump look similar to iwaki pump,have anyone have seen it close up?

I also read up that their pump is silent and dont lose flow as the filter clogs.
I dont know how much the pump cost here in SG but in UK the ES 600 go for 650pound!

Yeah i heard it won't lose the flow even you dump the chamber with full media or when it's getting dirty.

Initial thought it was just marketing talk, but if it's not, what's made this happen?

I trust it's not computerize as like Eheim 3e, with in intelligent way controlled by microchip

In my opinion its because:
1. It is look cool. The same as all ADA product, they focus on aesthetics.
2. Full body stainless steel, my guess it is with high concentration of chromium and nickel otherwise it will be like cheap stainless steel scissor will still rusts if you don't dry it. How to dry it, its water filter
3. Heavy duty industry rated Iwaki's pump

If you look them carefully, it seems they are not using sponge either finest or rough pores. All you need is just bio rio(Their media). I don't know how do they compensate this from being clogged and big dirt particles.

How much do you think it should cost? How do you judge overprice? Do you know the manufacturing cost?

A copy of ADA scissor direct from manufacturer cost $5 and sell at LFS for $50. Is it overprice or not?

not sure , judging from the numbers of super jet owners locally, not much users , other products like soil i guess is ok

I never been to ADA Japan gallery, and see it by myself how good this creature is. Probably bro Shadow been there many times and observed them close and carefully.

I saw it at fishybusiness shop in the past, roger have it run on one of 2 ft tank. It didn't look overkill, but seems good enough to push the water overall across the tank, while creating gentle vortex from the output pipes. I guess 10x filter capacity shouldn't be necessary to this jet

I guess what you are trying to say is expensive, which I agree but I do not agree that it is overprice. With thick stainless steel and iwaki's pump, the material cost alone wont be cheap in the first place. Not to mention shipping cost, distributor profit and re-seller profit

If you happen to visit Hong Kong or Japan, do look for ADA product, the price will surprise you .

I try to lift up empty filter before, it is freaking heavy. I can't even lift it up when its full . I did not pay much attention to it because it beyond my budget . What I'm eyeing is ADA tools which quite reasonable price since its made of medical grade stainless steel.

wondering why to filter a 2 feet or 3 feet tank cost so much ,( based of price in local website) guess with additional cost factor in , the selling price is mark up high

Because its a luxury items , its a stainless steel body you can't compare it with plastic body

I never actually pay attention to it price but my guess for es600 lowest model would be around S$700-800 or maybe cheaper .
