What is this part of the GEX HOF for?

Hi everyone.

I just bought a GEX L HOF and it comes with this little thing here:

Unfortunately, the instructions are all in Japanese and I have no idea what this thing does. Can someone please let me know what this is for? Thank you very much!

Looks like some sort of aerator device, to introduce air into the water by natural occurence ie water going down the tube will suck in air if this piece is attached to.

Yup BFG is spot on...its a part you attach to the filter to take advantage of the venturi effect to introduce air. Thus aerating the water.

I bought a submersible power head with an aerator tube attached.
No matter what I do, I still couldn't get any air to flow in with the water.
What should I do to get a nice stream of fine air bubbles mixing with the water at the outlet of the pump?

You cannot place the powerhead too deep in the water. Or, something is blocking the air from going in the tube. On some model of this aerator thingy,there is an adjustable portion whereby you can either let in air or close it off.
