-2ft empty Tank
-ph 6
-One submerged pump with carbon (new) and 1 sponge pump (old)
-tap water (anti chlorine)
I just took over 15 of the above mention fishes from a friend about 30hours ago. When I reach home, I noticed white spots and some fray fin on some of the angelfishes. I also noticed that some of them are pale (losing their colour and strips due to stress) mostly mana. I think.
Actions taken.
2 soup spoon of aquarium salt as advise by xxx aquarium. However, I put in only 1 soup spoon. (Pls advice on the amount). Clean up the bottom at night.
This afternoon, discovered that the Nitrate and ammonia is slightly high (orange lvl) maybe due to overcrowding - changing 7L of water while cleaning the bottom. Using JBL easytest 6 in 1 kit.
The water changed are treated with anti chlorine. 3 table spoon of aquarium salt is added to 7L of water for changing.
I also added 1 cap of dark water (about 3/4 of the recommend dosage) after I discovered that the mana are still pale.
The Peruvian seem to be adapting well.
Can anyone advice on the further actions required?
Kindly correct my above mentioned procedures if there are mistakes.
Thanks in advance

Your tank is too small for them. need to do daily 50% water change and re-dose the medicine for the water replacement.
Ya. I was planning to switch them to 3ft after quarantine

Will do daily 50% as recommended
Thanks for the advice
Hopefully they will recover fast

Anyone can advice me on how long do i need to quarantine them before transferring to the main tank?
Currently, some of them still have white spots while some still show signs of flukes (but there is no flashing of gills)
No casualties up till now.
Still dosing the above mention medicine but does not seem to help. Any advices for alternative medicine?
Concurrently still maintaining 2 soup spoon of aquarium salt in the water.
Thanks in advance for the help.

In additional, any experience angelfish keeper can advise me on the type of filter to have for a 4ft tank.

Bro,
peruvian and manas have different adaptation to water ph. Your manas may have been stressed due to space and water parameters. You may want to clear the ok ones into another tank first to give them more space.
Angrybird, thanks for your reply.
My initial plan is to do a good quarantine before I shift them to the community tank.
I did not dare to bring them out as I am worried about spreading the sickness around. All the fishes had been together for some time before I had taken over them.
Is doing about 10L of wc daily to clean the tank base. Currently, both ammonia and nitrate are under control.
However, seem like there are more complications than expected.
Just brought a heater and increased the temperature to 30 degree Celsius.
Future plan.
Will do a 50% wc tmr to remove all the medicine and try salt treatment for a week at 30 degree Celsius.
Suggestions?

Yellow poops normal?
Feeding them with JBL flakes. The rest of the poop are red in colour. Occasionally will find some transparent poop but noticed no sign of movement on its own (worms)

Pardon me for all the questions.

They look healthy to me, bro.
Oh... That is a well timed assurance.
I will quarantine for 1 more week at 30 degree Celsius. If nothing cope up, then I will start to introduce them to my main tank.

The reddish spots on the upper part of the body in between the stripes is normal. I used to have wild-type scalare that showed them too. Biggest problem is when you have stringy poo, which is when you need to worry. They look good though.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
Thanks for the reply!

The one with yellow poop probably needs to be treated for internal parasites. Do a Metronidazole + Praziquental treatment (Incidentally, Praziquental works for flukes, which was what you said you needed to clear earlier
Best to use
1. A external canister filter at one end
2. A powerhead filter at other end to circulate the water
3. Attach a air tube to the outlet of the powerhead.
The powerhead filter needs to clean weekly
Angelfish can have a huge bioload.
The canister about one every 2 weeks.
Get some large leafed waterplant or simply money plant to use for decorations.
Bogwoods can be added as well.
Adult angelfish can be extremely aggressive and territorial.
