Currently I have 2 types of stem plant in my tank, Ludwigia sp 'Cuba' and Limnophila aromatica. The Ludwigia sp 'Cuba' is growing much fast than Limnophila aromatica. I had to trim it every 1-2 week.

Can you guys recommend any slower growing stem plants which consists of 2 variants of colours like my Limnophila aromatica. THANKS. [/list]

Proserpinaca Palustris "Cuba" is a good candidate as well.
Slow - but not painfully slow.

You can try searching the forum. Some of the forumers do sell it. They affectionately called it "PP" in short.
BTW - another stem plant you can try is Eusteralis stellata. Similar to Ludwigia sp "Cuba" but not as fast growing. Not an easy plant for most folks.

Thanks again juggler. I have tried Eusteralis stellata before but when compare to Ludwigia sp 'Cuba' it does not grow well after I replant it after triming, . Gave up after a few tries.

How about Eusteralis stellata 'broad leaf'? Is it a fast grower?

    Hi,

    E. Stellata Broad leaf might be a good choice. I've some planted with L. cuba and L. Aromatica, and it does not grow as fast as the other 2.

Hi Joe and Victri, thanks for your advice.
I have already have lobelia cardinalis in my tank.
Will look for E. Stellata Broad leaf this weekend or anyone have some to spare

    Hi Qazwer,
If you control the lights, Co2 and nutrient properly there should not be a problem. I have lobelia cardinalis in my tank for 10 months already so far not BBA (praying very hard ).

I'm not sure if you were specifically asking about red stem plants or what, but some of the slower-growing stems I've grown are Bacopa monnieri, Bacopa caroliniana 'variegated' (red in the mornings, olive at night), Lysimachia nummularia, and Lysimachia nummularia 'aurea'. While I've never kept the regular variety of B. caroliniana, I'm sure it grows at about the same speed as the 'variegated'. And I'll concur with the Lobelia cardinalis 'small form' being a slow-grower. I found Proserpinaca palustris to be painfully slow and finally lost patience with it .
