Have you try C328, polyart or seaview? They are the few LFS that carry more aquarium stocks. How about using internal filters?

Eheim classics, can vouch for them. 2211, 2213, 2215, 2217. Had them along with other filters, and never had problems with them.
A friend of mine used his 2215 for over 19 years and changed his impeller just only.

tsk tsk tsk...
TS wanted to know how to fix the tetra filters.. you all go and recommend eheim...
Off topic!
to TS, i think when you do bring the filter back to the LFS for parts, the LFS will recommend you to change filter... reason being maybe parts are not so readily available..
Another option is to mail tetra and see what they say. maybe they have a distributor with parts lying around..

Not many places carry tetra filters. I've seen them at C328 and perhaps Seaview. You can try to see if you are able to get replacement parts there.
Are you able to remove the hood so that you can use a HOF? That would also mean that you'll need to get a lightset as to use a HOF the hood should be removed when in use.

Eheim for a 14inch tank? ahem ahem.. too heavy on my pocket and I am happy with a hof..
I dont think the hood can be removed so i have to live with a tetra filter or go for an internal filter..![]()
