    Re: Cherry shrimp breeding

Judging by the photo you provided. I can only spot one female which appears to be saddled(eggs ready). When the female molt. She will release pheromones into the water making the males go into mating dance swimming all around searching for this female. If you are saying that after a female molts she will get berried, yes included that she is saddled. Females will usually get their first set of unfertilize eggs when matured

You will notice a piece of yellow saddle along the back of your female shrimp. Try google for pictures

    Re: Cherry shrimp breeding

If i am not wrong, the saddle on the females is a sign of fertility. So thats why we do not see saddled+pregnant shrimps as the same time.

Just let the shrimps be, and do not go and touch them, they'll breed naturally without any external intervention

    Re: Cherry shrimp breeding

I think the "magical leaf" mentioned is perhaps ketapang leaf?

Not sure if that directly helps shrimps breed, but it does lower pH slightly (good for certain shrimp species like CRS), provides a source of food for shrimplets and releases beneficial chemicals which prevent fungus growing on the shrimps and their eggs, so probably thats how it helps.

It'll turn your tank water into tea color though.

You can get dried ketapang leaves from places like C328 at around $1 for a large bag of it.
