    first of all, wish to clarify..

    there is no classic african shape... although the longish malawis are the ones we always encounter.

    even if this fish is a hybrid, it will still be 100% african. This is important. It doesnt matter if it looks "typical african " or not, because the influence on its shape can never come from another continent. To say that will imply that africans and central/south americans can mix.

    this reminds me of "Lutino" oscars, which closely resemble albinos but actually is a colour morph.

    just that mez mentioned that it looks african but the shape is too thick to be african.

    if not african then it will be american.
    but how can it have blood from both sides

    I saw the 1st generation in the pond, grow quite big I think at least got 4 inch long. Maybe can grow bigger.

    And how big is your tank to be able to house all these 30 new arrivals ??
    Does your fren only have this kind ? Or different varieties ?

    I intend to house them in my 100 litres.

    Maybe too small, I am really not sure but I will know later.

    Weileong, you can know now that it is way too small for 30 of them..

    it is too small even for 30 rams!

    So you may want to think abt what is in store for you...for you will face problems pretty soon. THis headache can be avoided by your decision now
