Arowana Avenue (same stretch as C328 and Polyart) has a few bags every now and then.
Small is beautiful.
Actually i want the tiger barb feeder to rear and not to feed. Because i like the fast eating moving they have.
Now i have a 4Ft tank with one guppy(to prevent parasites) and a red lobster, water is running.
Keep me updated. I'm staying at AMK district
Same here, I bought bags of feeder tiger barbs to keep in my aquarium, not as feeders.
Those from the bags sold at C328 and Arowana Avenue are pretty alright in terms of hardiness, you might get quite a bit of mortality at first, but those that survive will thrive and become really active and attractive.
I don't know about other shops, but I've purchased feeder tiger barbs from a tank in a fish farm in Pasir Ris and nearly all died after a single day. Same thing happened when I tried to buy a dozen or so from Yun Feng in Tampines - they were in such poor shape that the simple act of netting them to be bagged killed quite a few.
Just an aside, those tiger barbs sold as feeders are usually a different species from the 'common' (aka four-banded) tiger barbs - the feeders are five-banded tiger barbs, a species from Thailand and other parts of mainland Southeast Asia that has been introduced to some of our reservoirs.
Small is beautiful.
There are both 4-banded and 5-banded among the feeders. Occasionally seen those albino 4-bandeds for sale as feeders strangely. And yes I agree, many of them are highly stressed, but I've seen huge bags at C328 with roughly 30+ or so in the bag that were extremely active and healthy.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
Seems like C328 is a good fish shop. But its very far from my place
I believe the shops at Serangoon North will have these for sale. However, I did see 4-banded tiger barbs at Pet Mart, but not as feeders.

When to C328 on the 24 DEC for a look. Small shop selling many things. Unfortunately, Tiger barb feeder when i'm looking for is not available on that day
You did not try the other shops along the same stretch? The one that deals in predatory fish occasionally has feeder Tiger Barbs.

I just saw a few packs at y618 selling as feeders
Would have bought them had my tank not be fully stock now
Was in Clementi yesterday (4th January), Arowana Avenue and C328 both had several bags of feeder tiger barbs. All appeared healthy at a glance, although those at C328 did look a little stressed and the colours were washed out.
Small is beautiful.
Saw a bag at y618 yesterday
C328 almost everyday have .. U can try there.. Yishun there mostly Molly/ platy only
FAILURE IS THE MOTHER OF ALL SUCCESS
Thanks guys, i have bought the tiger barb from C328.
But i have another issue! When i was at the shop, i saw a small alligator gar fish. So i ask the auntie whether i can keep together. And she told me should be ok.
Then i think i when down all the way must as well buy it. In total, i bought a gar($10), 3bags of tiger barb($4.5).
After 3 days, my tiger b is getting fewer. HELP!
Bad idea. Gars are predatory fish and can grow to huge sizes. Small fish like barbs are considered food to these ambush predators.

It is always good to take what fish shop owners say with a pinch of saltwith the variety of fishes they sell, they have not kept all of them before and their goal is to sell the fish. Sometimes the owner has only limited experience with the fish, hence it is always best to research thoroughly online, get the opinions of many experienced fish owners and form your own conclusion. Never make hasty purchases. For now, unless you have another tank for the barbs to go, it would be easier to let nature take its course. Take this as a hard learned lesson. I remember when my mother believed a LFS advice and added a Betta with my guppies
