The main objective of this trip was to collect Betta persephone from a known location near Ayer Hitam. However we couldn't get any as the swamp was already dried up.

So we went to the second location, Sungai Kahang. Cryptocoryne nurii is known to occur in this river.

The water was flowing fast. But as soon as we stepped into the water. We found the plant.

Once heard this river was probably the most happening river in Malay Peninsula! Easily 40, 50 species during each collection trip. But 3 of us are amatures, can't expect much. So this is where we collected fish.

This is the most interesting fish collected.

    Akysis hendricksoni

Other fish collected including Rasbora bankanensis, Pangio kuhli, Pangio shelfordii, Pangio doriae, Betta pugnax, juvenile Doryichthys sp (Yet to identify), and a juvenile Mastacembelus favus(Now I know the juvenile fish is not a bottom deweller.). Didn't collect much.

Many thanks to the driver, and my old time friend.

Yeah, there are records from Endau drainage(To be precise, Sungai Kahang, the river I fished this afternoon and also from Sungai Lenggor).

    No picture yet. Still hiding.

Haha, nah. We spent 40 mins to bash 20 meter to the habitat, of course spent longer time trying to find water and digging the mud lah.

Btw, it is possible for a small swamp to dry up.
