CO2 Boot Camp

I am setting up a 46 gal planted tank and am looking for some advice on the following:

1). What type of Co2 device would I need for such a tank? Size? make and model and is anyone selling one in the US?

2) What type of sub gravel substrate / plant fertilizer is recommended for a planted tank? Manufacturer?

There is so much stuff out there I'd really like to refine my choices to a select brand so I can get my project moving. Thanks a lot for anyone responding.

a co2 cylinder would be more economical in the long run. get the biggest cylinder that fits in your cabinet and your pocket. try looking for it in your local fish shop or co2 gas resellers. some do get their co2 tanks from shops that sells co2 fire extinguishers or home brewery equipment.

normally, you'll use gravel that are 2-3mm in size. get enough to give you 1-2" thickness.

there are a multitude of fertilizer available but look for those that gives you the ingredients. you should know what you put into your tank.

As for substrates most people are going with the eco complete.

All around great substrate which does not cloud your water like its main competitors can.
